Why TRC20 on TRON
Why TRC20 and TRON Dominate Stablecoin Transfers Worldwide
01
Ultra-Low Transaction Fees
TRC20 transactions on the TRON network cost under $0.01. Compared to Ethereum's ERC20, TRC20 transfers are dramatically cheaper, making them ideal for high-frequency USDT transfers and daily crypto payments.

01. Is TRC20 the same as TRON?
No. TRON is the Layer-1 blockchain, and TRC20 is a token standard on that blockchain. Think of TRON as the highway system and TRC20 as the packaging rules for tokens traveling on it. TRX is the native coin used to pay fees.
02. Can I send USDT TRC20 without TRX?
You need a small amount of TRX to cover transaction fees (bandwidth and energy) when sending USDT TRC20. If your wallet has no TRX, you cannot complete the transaction. Always keep a small TRX balance in your wallet.
03. Why are TRC20 fees sometimes high?
TRC20 fees appear high when your wallet lacks sufficient Energy and must burn TRX instead. You can reduce fees by freezing TRX to obtain Energy, which powers smart contract transactions including all TRC20 token transfers.
04. What is the difference between TRX and TRC20?
TRX is TRON's native coin — it powers the network, pays fees, and enables governance voting. TRC20 is a token standard. USDT, for example, is a TRC20 token. You hold both separately: TRX for fees, TRC20 tokens for value transfer.
05. Can I receive TRC20 tokens on a TRON address?
Yes. Any TRON address (starting with T) can receive TRC20 tokens. The sending and receiving network must both be TRON. Never send TRC20 tokens to an ERC20 (Ethereum) address — the funds will be permanently lost.
